Modern kids clothing store interior design project — a full-store renovation for a children’s fashion brand expanding to a 1,000 sq ft retail location.

Project Scope
BDF Display was commissioned to design and manufacture all interior fixtures for this modern children’s clothing store. The brief called for a clean Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic with warm wood tones, soft pastel accents, and fixtures designed specifically for children’s product sizes.

Fixture Design

• Hanging racks: Adjusted to 48″ height — child-accessible but parent-friendly
• Wall shelving: Floating oak shelves with pastel-painted backing panels
• Display tables: Low-profile rounded tables (no sharp corners)
• Checkout: Dual-height counter — lower section for children, standard section for adults
• Play area: 80 sq ft soft-play zone with cushioned seating for parents

Material Choices

• Fixtures: Birch plywood with non-toxic matte lacquer
• Flooring: Soft cork in play zone, durable LVT in shopping aisles
• Lighting: Tunable LED (warm for cozy feel, neutral for accurate color viewing)
• Wall colors: Soft mint, blush pink, and warm cream — gender-neutral palette

Result
The store opened with strong foot traffic and has consistently received positive feedback from parents who appreciate the child-safe design and thoughtful layout. Average dwell time increased by 35% compared to the brand’s previous store format.
